Vodka sauce is my all time favorite pasta sauce that I thought I could only order in restaurants. More like I knew I could make it but it seems more like something you only get when eating out. Last night I asked my husband what he wanted for dinner since I hadn’t cooked in a while and was itching to make a new recipe and do a shoot and he said pasta. Instantly I thought of vodka sauce and ran to the grocery store to get the ingredients. I was so happy and also so angry with myself over how easy it is to make this sauce and have it taste just as good as your local restaurants. I can’t believe it took me this long to make it but this will not be the last time I whip out this recipe. Pasta with vodka sauce is so satisfying and comforting, especially on nights when you’ve been a little stressed out and need something quick and delicious. I hope you enjoy!
1 28 oz can of Crushed tomatoes
2̷3 cup Vodka
½ cup Heavy cream
1 tbsp Butter
4 cloves Garlic
3 leaves Basil
½ tsp Salt
½ tsp Pepper
A small pinch of sugar
2 tbsp Parmesan cheese
Saute onions in butter at medium heat. Add garlic and basil once onions soften. Saute for about 10 more minutes.
Add vodka and cook until alcohol has burned off.
Add crushed tomatoes, salt, pepper, sugar & Parmesan. Simmer for about 15 minutes until sauce is bubbling.
Add heavy cream slowly while stirring. Simmer another 10 minutes and voila! Your sauce is done! Easy, right?
Enjoy with your favorite pasta shape!
